Indian phone number for WhatsApp verification
India is WhatsApp's biggest market, and many people outside the country need an Indian number to register an account, whether to stay in touch with family, run a small business or test a product for Indian users. A temporary +91 number handles the verification code.
Why an Indian number
WhatsApp is used in India for everyday talk, for shops and for customer support, so an account with a +91 number looks normal to the people you are writing to. Someone who sells to Indian customers, tests a chat flow, or manages a community there often wants an account that is separate from their personal number.
If you are abroad and do not have an active Indian SIM, a rented number is a quick way to get past the code step.
What it will and will not do
It will receive the six digit SMS that WhatsApp sends when you register. It will not give you a number that you keep. The rental ends after the verification, and the number can go to another person afterwards.
That matters in two places. First, if WhatsApp asks you to verify again, for example after a reinstall or on a new phone, the code goes to a number you cannot read. Second, features tied to your own bank-registered SIM, such as payments inside WhatsApp, will not work on a rented line.
- India stock changes through the day, so a number may not be available every minute.
- The order page shows the price before you confirm.
- Cancel before a code arrives, or let a no-message order time out, and the amount returns to your balance. Wallet deposits are not refundable, see the refund policy.
- Request the SMS option in WhatsApp. A phone call code cannot be received on a text-only number.
Entering an Indian number in WhatsApp
Choose India (+91) as the country in the WhatsApp registration screen. Indian mobile numbers have ten digits after the country code. Type the ten digits you were given, without extra zeros, then request the code. When the text arrives in your SMS OTPS dashboard, copy the six digits into the app.
Ask for the code once. If it has not come after a couple of minutes, cancel the order for a refund and try another number instead of pressing resend again and again.

Frequently asked questions
Can I verify WhatsApp with an Indian +91 number?
Yes. Select WhatsApp and India on the order page. If an Indian number is in stock, it is assigned to you and the SMS code appears in your dashboard.
How much does an India WhatsApp number cost?
Prices follow the current supply and can change. The order page shows the price before you buy.
The code did not arrive. Do I lose my money?
No. Cancel before a code arrives, or let the order time out. The amount returns to your SMS OTPS balance under the refund policy, and you can try another number.
Will WhatsApp payments or UPI work with a rented number?
No. Payments in India are linked to the bank-registered mobile number on your own SIM. A temporary number is only good for receiving the verification SMS.
Is it okay for an account I want to keep?
Only if you accept the risk. If WhatsApp asks you to verify again later, the code goes to the rented number, which you will no longer have. For a long-term account use a number you keep.
Is there an API?
Yes, see the API documentation for ordering numbers and reading messages by code.
