10 minute email alternative with a 24 hour inbox
A 10 minute email is a throwaway inbox that disappears fast. That is fine when the confirmation arrives instantly. It is a problem when the message is late and the address is already gone. This temp mail keeps the address for 24 hours and needs no account.
What people mean by 10 minute email
The phrase comes from services that hand out a random address with a ten minute countdown. You use it to get one confirmation email, and when the timer ends the address and its mail are deleted. It keeps your real address off mailing lists and out of data leaks, and it costs nothing.
The idea is sound. The short timer is the weak point. Verification emails can take a minute or two, a site may ask you to request the code again, and a countdown that you have to keep extending is one more thing to watch.
How this inbox is different
The address you get on the SMS OTPS temp mail page stays active for 24 hours instead of ten minutes. The inbox checks for new mail automatically every 20 seconds, and if a message has a verification code in it, the code is highlighted so you can copy it.
There is no registration, no password and no payment. When you want a clean start, press New Address and you get another one.
- 24 hour address instead of a ten minute countdown
- Automatic check for new mail every 20 seconds
- Verification codes highlighted for one-click copy
- No sign-up and no cost
Good uses and bad uses
Use a short-lived address for things you will not need again: a trial, a download, a coupon, a quick forum post, or checking that your own sign-up form sends its confirmation email.
Do not use one for accounts you need to keep. A password reset goes to the email you signed up with. If that inbox is gone after a day, you cannot get back in. Banking, work tools, and anything tied to money belong on your real email.
When you need a phone number instead
Some sign-up pages ask only for a mobile number and send a code by SMS. An email inbox cannot receive that. For those cases SMS OTPS offers temporary phone numbers. You choose the service and country, see the price before you buy, and read the text in your dashboard. Cancelling before a code arrives, or a timeout with no message, returns the amount to your balance as described in the refund policy.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a 10 minute email service?
Not exactly. Classic 10 minute mail services delete the address after about ten minutes. The SMS OTPS temp mail address stays active for 24 hours, so you have more time if the message is slow to arrive.
Why would I want a longer-lasting address?
Some sites send the confirmation email a few minutes late, or ask you to confirm again after a failed attempt. A timer that runs out in ten minutes can cut that short.
Can I extend the address?
The address lasts 24 hours. When it is gone, press New Address to generate another one. A new address starts with an empty inbox.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no charge and no sign-up.
Can a site tell I am using a temporary email?
Some sites check the domain against lists of disposable email providers and reject matches. If a site rejects the address, use a different method or your real email.
Can I get a text message code here?
No, this inbox only receives email. For SMS codes you can rent a temporary number from SMS OTPS.
